Spin dryer
The Laundry Alternative Inc., Middletown Springs, Vt., presents its Spin Dryer with a 3200 revolutions per minute spin cycle. It extracts significantly more water from the clothes than a washing machine spin cycle does. It does not have a heating element, so it does not get the clothes 100 percent dry -- after the cycle is over, the clothes can either be hung up to fully dry, or run through a tumble dryer for a few minutes to remove the last bits of moisture. The Spin Dryer removes about as much water from the clothes in only 2-3 minutes as a tumble dryer would in 30-35 minutes, resulting in dramatic energy savings.
